Good afternoon, Mustangs!
What a wonderful week we have had with our students! I will say that watching our students on Valentine’s Day is a very special time! The joy in their smiles and curiosity of what a simple little card may say and show goes beyond words. The creativity the students use in creating their boxes is so precious. Valentine’s Day truly showcases the best in our children as we strive to leave no one out on this very special day.
Safety…yes, you may think that I overdo this but safety comes before learning. Please remember that entrance during the school day is only through the front doors and with a drivers license, state ID or passport. Please do not go to a side door and knock for a student or adult to let you in the building. We have worked hard to teach our students not to open doors. You make it very difficult on them if they know you. I do thank you for your help with this.
Please share with neighbors and friends in Lexington School District 1 that now is the time to register for 5 year old kindergarten. Students must be 5 years old by September 1 to register. It is important that we get everyone registered as quickly as possible as this is how the number of teachers needed is determined. So, please, share with your neighbors and friends.
I do hope you have a wonderful 3-day weekend as students do not go to school on Friday, February 16. This is a Professional Development Day for teachers. We will see our Mustangs back on Monday, February 19, as this is being used to makeup for the day we missed earlier this year for the hurricane.
Have a wonderful weekend and take a moment to celebrate the joy your family members bring!
