Bonjour! This will be my fourth year at Midway. I received my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood from USC, and I have spoken French since I can remember. Although I was raised in the States, I love the language and the opportunity to pass it on to children. I live in Lexington with my husband and four step-kids, and in my free time I enjoy writing or spending time with my family.

Welcome to 1st grade! This is my 12th year teaching and having fun with kids.  I have loved watching kids grow and learn.  I look forward to seeing how much growth can be made this year in 1st grade.

I have a degree from Columbia College in Elementary Education. I am certified in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also have a master’s degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College. My latest professional accomplishment was receiving National Board Certification in 2013.

Outside of school I love to spend time with my family. I am married and have two boys who also attend Lexington 1 schools. I have a sweet Cockapoo named Kaycee.  She is my one and only girl!

I cannot wait to work with our parents and students in order to demonstrate our motto of “making a difference for every student.”  Go Mustangs!

I grew up in Augusta, GA and was born a Georgia Bulldog. My husband, born a Clemson Tiger, is a teacher at Red Bank Elementary. We have a daughter in 6th grade and a son in 2nd grade and enjoy family game nights on a regular basis. I graduated from Presbyterian College with a BS in Early Childhood Education and from Furman University with a MA in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been in education for 15 years teaching all things early childhood: reading, parenting, school readiness, kindergarten, and first grade. This is my second year as a Mustang, and I love being a part of the Midway Family.

I have taught at Midway Elementary since the doors opened over 20 years ago.  I received both my undergraduate and masters degrees in Early Childhood education from the University of South Carolina.   It has been an honor to be recognized as Teacher of the Year at both Oak Grove Elementary and Midway Elementary and as a district finalist twice.  My husband is employed at W P Law, Inc.  Our youngest son is an engineer in NC, and our oldest lives in MN with our adorable 2-year old granddaughter.   I enjoy hiking, gardening, entertaining friends, reading great books, and I’m very excited to begin another wonderful year as a Midway Mustang!
