I grew up in Lexington and attended Lexington One schools. I graduated a year early after my family moved to Mauldin, S.C. I attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities from USC. This is my 28th year of teaching.
My husband and I have been married almost 30 years. We are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters who went to Midway when they were in elementary school. One of which has graduated from USC and the other is attending USC. In my spare time, I love reading a good book and snuggling with my dog Duece.
Teacher – Immersion
I have taught at Midway Elementary since the doors opened 20 years ago. I received both my undergraduate and masters degrees in Early Childhood education from the University of South Carolina. It has been an honor to be recognized as Teacher of the Year at both Oak Grove Elementary and Midway Elementary and as a district finalist twice. I have two grown sons who are now in the working world in MN and NC. My husband works at WP Law, and we celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary this past summer. I enjoy hiking, entertaining friends, reading, and spoiling our cat, Ralph.
Teacher – Immersion
I have been working at Midway Elementary since 2004. I first worked as a kindergarten assistant in a regular class, then in the French immersion class. I completed my teaching certification through the PACE program and have been the 2nd grade French Immersion teacher since 2012. I am originally from France but I have been living in Lexington for over 20 years. My husband and I have two children both students at USC. In my spare time I like to read and cook. My family and I also enjoy traveling. We have spent many summers abroad visiting family, discovering different regions of France and other European countries.
I graduated from Lander university with a B.A. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I received my Masters in Administration from Winthrop University. I have taught first grade for 18 years and this is my second year in second grade. I have two children Elizabeth Jade and Thomas. In my spare time I enjoy tennis , going to the lake , and watching Thomas play basketball.
I am thrilled to be part of the second grade team this year. My experience includes teaching grades two, three , and four in Jacksonville, Florida and Lexington One. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida. It is my goal to make the 2016 – 2017 school year the best yet!
