Hello Mustangs! I have been at Midway since 2012. I am excited to be teaching 1st grade this year. I attended the University of South Carolina and received my B.A. in Early Childhood Education. I live here in Lexington with my husband, Brooks, and our 2 dogs, Emzi and Lola.
Hello! I am excited to join the Midway family this year! This will be my 8th year teaching and I love it. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my son, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.
I grew up in Lexington and attended Lexington One schools. I graduated a year early after my family moved to Mauldin, S.C. I attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities from USC. This is my 30th year of teaching. My husband and I have been married almost 33 years. We are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters who went to Midway when they were in elementary school. One of which has graduated from USC and just bought her own home. The other is attending USC. In my spare time, I love reading a good book working in my yard, and snuggling with my dog Duece.
Hi! I am Molly Pope and this will be my fifth year teaching and first year at Midway! I attended Winthrop University and graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education. I am dual certified in Elementary Education. I also taught for two months in China teaching English to third and fifth grade students. My husband and I recently moved from North Carolina to Lexington with our two month old son, Bradford, and standard poodle Samson. My husband also teaches in Lexington One at Lexington High School and coaches basketball. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, going to the beach, and eating Chick-Fil-A! I am so excited for a fun year full of laughing, learning, and making lasting relationships with my kiddos at Midway. Go Mustangs!
Hi, I am Merritt Lemmon! I joined the Midway family in 2017, and I am excited for another great year with the best faculty, staff, students, and parents in Lexington 1. I completed my undergraduate degree at Winthrop University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I am dual certified in both Elementary and Early Childhood Education. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends, attending church, drinking Starbucks and cruising around Lake Murray with my family.
Hi Mustangs!! I am excited to be joining the Midway Family this year! This is my 9th year teaching and first year at Midway! I attended USC and graduated with my B.A. in Early Childhood Education. I received my Master’s degree in Education in Language, Literacy and Culture from Coastal Carolina. My husband and I have been married 8 years. We are the proud parents of our 5 year old daughter, Harper and 1 year old twin boys, Jackson and Colton. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am so excited for a great year of learning and building relationships with my students at Midway!
French Immersion – ELA/Social Studies
It is always exciting to begin a new school year at MES! I began my teaching career teaching second grade in Jacksonville, Florida. After moving to Lexington in 2002, I took a teaching position at LMES. I have been a part of the Midway family since 2014. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Florida. My teaching experience includes teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades and gifted/academically talented. I am looking forward to teaching French Immersion this school year and hope to make it the best year yet!
French Immersion – Math/Science
I have been working at Midway Elementary since 2004. I first worked as a kindergarten assistant in a regular class, then in the French immersion class. I completed my teaching certification through the PACE program and have been the 2nd grade French Immersion teacher since 2012. I am originally from France but I have been living in Lexington for over 20 years. My husband and I have two children both students at USC. In my spare time I like to read and cook. My family and I also enjoy traveling. We have spent many summers abroad visiting family, discovering different regions of France and other European countries.
