k.mckinleyI am looking forward to another year as a Mustang, teaching fifth grade! This will be my 15th year in Lexington 1 and my 7th year at Midway. I grew up in the Lexington schools and love working so close to home. My husband and I live nearby and enjoy spending time with our 2 sons. I am excited about working with another great group of 5th graders, helping them learn and grow in preparation for middle school!

Hello 5th grade Mustangs! I am Erika Whitlow and I am so excited to begin my 11th year as a Mustang. I grew up in Virginia but have lived in South Carolina for over 20 years. I received my BA in elementary education from Columbia College.  Together with a team of amazing and creative teachers, I am committed to providing your student  with a wonderful learning experience. When I am not teaching, I love cooking, reading, and spending time with my sweet family.  I am excited to share an amazing year with your children.

Fifth grade at Midway is the best! This will be my eighth year at MES, and I love being part of such an awesome team of teachers. I was born and raised in Lexington and have both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!). My husband, Todd and toddler, Ellison, love spending our time with family and friends, eating delicious food, being around the water, and laughing at our crazy dogs, Cooper and Taco. Fifth grade was my favorite grade in elementary school, and now it’s my favorite grade to teach. I’m looking forward to another great year!

Welcome to a great year as a Midway Mustang! I am excited to be joining the Midway family as I start my 12th year teaching. I am looking forward to working with a great group of 5th graders. I am originally from central Illinois where I taught for 9 years in the elementary schools before my husband’s job took us to sunny Tampa, Florida. During our 3 years in Florida, I taught for 2 of those years, in 3rd and 4th grades. We are excited to begin our new adventure in South Carolina. After moving to Lexington this past August, I took a year off from teaching to get acclimated. I am excited to get back into the classroom. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in elementary education and my master’s degree in reading, both from Illinois State University. Our daughter, Evelyn, will be attending Midway in the 4K program this year. My husband, Mike, is an assistant baseball coach at USC, so of course we are huge Gamecock fans! You can find us at the ballfield during baseball season. I look forward to working with your Mustang this year.
