I am looking forward to another year as a Mustang, teaching fifth grade! This will be my 16th year in Lexington 1 and my 8th year at Midway. I grew up in the Lexington schools and love working so close to home. My husband and I live nearby and enjoy spending time with our 2 sons. I am excited about working with another great group of 5th graders, helping them learn and grow in preparation for middle school!

I am excited to join the Midway family as a fifth grade teacher! This will be my sixth year teaching and my third year with fifth grade. I am looking forward to learning alongside a great group of students! My husband, Wesley, and I moved from the Charlotte area and welcomed our first child this past March, a little boy named Whit. I love spending time at the pool or beach, reading, and decorating our new home.

I am so excited to be joining the Midway Mustangs! I will be teaching fifth grade ELA and math. I have 15 years of teaching experience in grades 2-5, with eight of those being in fifth grade. As a military spouse, I have had the unique opportunity to teach in many different states and in Italy. My family and I recently moved to Lexington from Anchorage, Alaska, and we are enjoying the warmer temperatures and the sunshine. My husband is stationed at Shaw AFB. I have a daughter who is a sophomore at River Bluff and a son who is in eighth grade at Lexington Middle. As a family, we enjoy camping, fishing and running.

French Immersion – ELA/Social Studies

I’ve been at Midway since 2011, where I’ve taught fourth and fifth grade. Fifth grade was my favorite grade in elementary school, and now it is my favorite grade to teach! I was born and raised in Lexington and have both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!). My husband, Todd, and our two young girls, Ellison and Addie, love spending time with family and friends, eating yummy food, being around the water, Disney, cheering on the Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves, and laughing at our crazy dogs, Cooper and Taco. I’m looking forward to another great year!

This is my seventh-year teaching at MES. I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade French Immersion. I have been in education for 22 years teaching in the classroom, homebound and online. I moved to SC 13 years ago from TN. Go Vols! I have lived in Mali, Burundi, France and Mexico. My husband and I have two children who attend Meadow Glen Middle (6th grade) in the Immersion program and River Bluff High School (10th grade). In our free time, we like to travel, to play the pool, and do things together.
