My name is Ashley Morris and I was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina. Growing up, I attended Lexington schools (including Midway). I also completed my student teaching at Midway in the fall of 2008 with Mrs. Thomas’s kindergarten class. I am a 2009 graduate from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) where I majored in Early Childhood Education. I have my Master’s degree from Columbia College in Divergent Learning and I recently received National Board Certification. This will be my 10th year as a teacher at Midway. I am an avid Gamecock fan and love to attend the games with my husband, Alex. We enjoy spending time with our daughter, Anna Kate, and our Goldendoodle named Jax.
Mrs. Farrell is also a graduate of the University of South Carolina. This will be her 9th year at Midway and her 8th year in the kindergarten classroom. She has been married to her husband, David, for 27 years. They have a 17-year-old daughter, Erin, who attends River Bluff High School. They have a yellow Lab named Star. The Farrell family spends much of their time outside: hiking, fishing, working in the yard and going to the beach.

I grew up in the small town of Bowman, South Carolina so I am a country girl at heart. Outside of school, I love reading, spending time with my family, and visiting my family back home. I am married to Randy and have two step-sons (Brayden and Ethan) and one daughter (Lila). Lila is in first grade this year at Midway.
I hope to instill the love of reading and writing in your child while having FUN! I look forward to a great year with your children.

Hello Midway Mustangs! It seems like just yesterday that I began my first years at Midway as a parent when my family moved to Lexington in 1994. Several years later I was excited to join the Midway staff as an instructional assistant. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I share an “empty nest” with my husband Carey. We have two sons, Michael and Marion, who have both graduated from college and no longer live in Lexington. Michael lives in Baltimore, Maryland and Marion lives in Charleston. I enjoy traveling, reading, running and especially any time spent with my family.

I am so excited to be a part of the Midway Mustang Team! I taught kindergarten in Savannah, Georgia for eleven years before moving here to Lexington. After staying at home with my son for five years, I was blessed to get a job in Lexington School District One as a Learning Commons assistant at Midway Elementary School. I reentered the classroom at Lexington Elementary School and spent three years there teaching second grade and kindergarten. Kindergarten is my heart and I look forward to my second year teaching kindergarten at Midway Elementary. I can’t believe this is my sixteenth year of teaching!
I graduated in 1998 from James Madison University where I was an English major and minored in Early Childhood. In 2004 I graduated with my Masters in Early Childhood Education, from Armstrong Atlantic State University, in Savannah, Georgia.
Lexington, South Carolina has been home to my husband, Pat, and son, Brooks, and I for ten years now. It truly is home. We have an adorable chihuahua-beagle dog, named Princess, who is a forever puppy. I spend a lot of time on the baseball diamond with Brooks. I love going to see my students play ball….and of course karate belt ceremonies, dance recitals and any of the interests the children want to share with me! I am a lover of chocolate, the beach and my Clemson Tigers!
I am looking forward to a wonderful school year teaching and loving your children. Thank you for sharing your little blessings with me.
Hello Midway Mustangs! I am a graduate of Anderson University, where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services & Resources. I have worked in the adoption field, taught preschool, and been a stay at home parent. Most recently, I was a substitute teacher in Lexington School District One before accepting my current position as a kindergarten teacher assistant. I am thrilled to be a part of the team here at Midway!
Outside of school I love to spend time with my family. My husband, Bob, also works in education and together we live in Lexington with our two children, Weston and Addison and our dog Lulu. We spend a lot of our time cheering Weston on as he plays football, baseball, and basketball and watching Addison dance. We are also big Gamecock fans and love to travel in our spare time.
I am looking forward to an exciting year with your children in Kindergarten!”
