I am originally from Colombia, South America but I have been living in the United States since 2002. This is my second year as a 3-5 Spanish teacher at Midway Elementary and I am thrilled to be part of such a wonderful school.
I attended the Universidad del Valle in Colombia and graduated with a B.A. in Modern Languages and Education. I also hold a Master’s degree in Teaching the Spanish Language and its Culture from the Universidad de Granada in Spain.
In my spare time I love reading, writing, drawing, gardening, and traveling. I am looking forward to another great year with our little mustangs!
¡Hola! I am Olga Brown and I will be going into my 6th year of teaching. I have spoken Spanish my whole life! I strongly believe that learning a World Language will help open up doors in our students’ lives. I am inspired by my father, a college professor for 40 years, to teach Spanish. I attended Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC, where I received my B.A. in Spanish. I completed my teaching certification through the PACE program. I am married and we have two beautiful daughters, a 3 and 5 year old- we will be welcoming our baby boy this year! Outside of school, I enjoy traveling and discovering new places with my family. I cannot wait to see what Midway has in store for both my daughter and myself. Go Mustangs!
