Aletha Corley

My name is Aletha Corley.  I’ve been teaching Special Education for 29 years in Lexington School District One. Additionally, I served as an instructional assistant for four years in a special education classroom. I’ve taught all ages from preschool to high school. I have experience with all ability levels. I enjoy coaching Run Hard at MES.  I am married to my high school sweetheart, Jay Corley, and we have two grown boys Daniel and Jonathan. We have two beautiful daughter in laws Noelle and Hanna.  I grew up in Lexington and attended Lexington One Schools.  I enjoy taking care of my dog (Max), two cats (Sir Purr and Stripe Kitty), fish and of course my house plants.  I love running and most anything outdoors. My newest hobbies are crocheting and making bracelets.

Michelle Smith, Assistant

Hello Midway Mustangs! My name is Michelle Smith. I have an associate’s degree in early care and education from Trident Technical College.  I have spent 4 years with Alphabest. I am excited to be returning to the 3k classroom. I am married with 3 children and 2 dogs. I enjoy the outdoors, I love dolphins, and I like to travel. When I was a teenager, I moved from West Virginia to South Carolina, and I love living here.  I am looking forward to a great school year! Let's go Mustangs!

Kimberly-Jo Stuenkel, Assistant

Hello! My name is Kim, and I am excited to continue being part of the Midway family. Originally from Montana, I moved to South Carolina in 2020. I am the proud mom of three children who attend Midway: Emma, a rising 5th grader, Ashton, a rising 3rd grader, and Elijah, a rising 2nd grader.

I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and will complete my student teaching in 2027. I have been working at Midway for the past year and a half as a substitute teacher, and what began as a long-term one-to-one shadow position grew into a staff role that I am incredibly grateful for.

This year, I am thrilled to remain in the 3K program alongside Mrs. Corley and Mrs. Michelle. I look forward to another wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun with our students and families.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy traveling, hiking trails, chasing waterfalls, reading, and cooking. I am grateful to be part of such a supportive school community and can't wait for an amazing year ahead!
