4th Grade

Paoloa Aldana

Immersion Math/Science

Bonjour! My name is Madame Paola Aldana, and I am thrilled to be your child’s French Immersion teacher this year at Midway Elementary School.

I bring over 20 years of international teaching experience in world languages—Spanish, French, and English. I’ve had the opportunity to live and study in France, which helped me deepen my knowledge and love for the French language and culture. I also hold a Master’s degree in Education and have proudly been a South Carolina educator for the past four years.

Teaching children and watching them grow as curious, confident, and bilingual learners is my greatest passion. I believe in creating a warm, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and inspired to do their best.

I can’t wait to begin this exciting school year together and look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s journey.

Lynn Dempsey

I am excited to be a 4th grade teacher at Midway. Prior to Midway, I had the privilege of teaching gifted and talented students (EAGLE) at Lexington Elementary.  My passion for education was cultivated at the University of South Carolina.  I'm proud to have been recognized as a PBS Innovator National Teacher  and as a former Teacher of the Year at LES. While my career is a major part of who I am, I also love exploring new places through travel, staying active with a good workout, and most importantly, making memories with my grandchildren.

Rachel Noyes

I am a graduate of University of South Carolina with my elementary education degree. I have nearly 20 years of teaching experience in the public, private and virtual school setting spanning from preschool to 5th grade classrooms. My husband and I love living in Lexington. We have two daughters, a 4th grade at Midway and a 7th grader at Lakeside. Both girls are very active volleyball players so when I am not at school you can usually find me in a gym or traveling for tournaments. I am excited for a great school year!

Leigh Ann Senn

Immersion ELA/Social Studies

Hello Mustangs! I am excited to start my thirteenth  year at Midway. While I grew up in Alabama, I've proudly called South Carolina home for the past 25 years. My husband, Scott, and I live in Lexington with our two daughters, who are both seniors, one at Lexington High School and the other at Mars Hill University. When I find a moment to myself, I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, and relaxing at the beach. I'm looking forward to another great year at Midway!

Lauren Stuckey

My name is Lauren Stuckey.  I am so excited for my seventeenth year in education and my fifth year at Midway. I graduated from the University of South Carolina, and I am a huge Gamecock fan! Although we are not military, my family has had the opportunity to move quite a bit the last seventeen years. I have had the opportunity to teach many different grade levels and work with some amazing educators! Fourth grade is one of my favorite grades to teach, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with your children this school year.

Stephanie Turbeville

I have been teaching in Lexington District One schools since 1994, and I have taught 4th grade at Midway Elementary School since 2006. I have lived in Lexington all of my life. I attended Lexington schools and graduated from Lexington High School. I have four children who have participated in the French Immersion Program at MES. Three are River Bluff High School graduates, and one is a Freshman at River Bluff. I enjoy reading, music, dance, swimming, photography, crocheting, and arts and crafts. My family is involved in a variety of sports and dance. We also enjoy supporting the RB Gators and family trips to the beach.

Jennifer Uhl

Hello, Midway Mustangs! My name is Jennifer Uhl (pronounced yule), and I am happy to be returning to MES in a new position this year. I'm moving from 3K to the 4th grade. I have been an educator for over two decades in the roles of elementary teacher and school administrator. I am married and have a 6th grader and 7th grader at Lakeside (who both previously attended Midway), and three bonus kids in 5th, 7th, and 9th grade. In my free time, I love to be outside, especially when it's warm and sunny! I also love listening to music, reading, baking, and spending time with my family and pets. I look forward to a great year at Midway and getting to know each other!

Tiffany Walker

I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade ELA at Midway this year! I received my bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina, and my Masters in Reading from Grand Canyon University. I have 5 years of experience teaching in Lexington District One. In my free time, I love to travel, cheer on the gamecocks and hangout at the lake.
