I am so excited to begin my fourth year of teaching and my second year teaching CC1 here at Midway. I am extremely passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. I am dedicated to meeting each student’s unique needs through individualized instruction and a focus on building confidence, independence, and a love for learning. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy going to workout classes and spending time with my husband and our dog Montana.

Howdy Mustangs!
My name is Susan McCoy and I'm looking forward to my second year at Midway Elementary supporting children with disabilities and special needs.
I graduated from University of Memphis with a BFA in commercial interiors, got married, traveled where the Army needed my husband to go between Europe and The USA. I have 2 sons who helped me decide to transition into elementary education, then visual arts education. I received a MEd in Administration and Policy Studies, retired after 21 years as a Texas educator, but continued as an education coordinator with City and Children's Museum programming paying attention to multi-intelligences and learning styles with the "big picture" in mind. We now have 5 grandkids; 2 in SC, 3 in Texas in dance, gymnastics and T-ball and we're helping our oldest son at his Heritage Valley Farm Lavender farm in Leesville. I am looking forward to assisting students and classroom teachers with the exciting year ahead!
