Nicole Gupta
My name is Nicole Gupta and I am so excited to join the Midway family. I was born and raised in Vienna, Austria and moved to South Carolina in August 2022. I graduated from USC with my Masters in Special Education in May 2025 and am currently still in school to get my BCBA certification. My teaching philosophy includes “see the able, not the label” and “connection over compliance”.
I have a one year old daughter, Anya, who keeps my husband and me very busy. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and reading a good book. My guilty pleasure is diet coke and I will never say no to a night in watching a movie or show. I am looking forward to working with you all!

Howdy Mustangs!
My name is Susan McCoy and I'm looking forward to my second year at Midway Elementary supporting children with disabilities and special needs.
I graduated from University of Memphis with a BFA in commercial interiors, got married, traveled where the Army needed my husband to go between Europe and The USA. I have 2 sons who helped me decide to transition into elementary education, then visual arts education. I received a MEd in Administration and Policy Studies, retired after 21 years as a Texas educator, but continued as an education coordinator with City and Children's Museum programming paying attention to multi-intelligences and learning styles with the "big picture" in mind. We now have 5 grandkids; 2 in SC, 3 in Texas in dance, gymnastics and T-ball and we're helping our oldest son at his Heritage Valley Farm Lavender farm in Leesville. I am looking forward to assisting students and classroom teachers with the exciting year ahead!
